Free Autodesk DWG TrueView
From Between the Lines - Autodesk has finally released their free DWG viewer - DWG TrueView (announced some time ago).
DWG TrueView contains the kernel of AutoCAD 2006 - so the DWG and DXF files are displayed with 100% fidelity (but the viewer is also about 106MB to download...). You can also use it to publish your DWG files to the DWF format - which is still the most appropriate way to distribute and view CAD data.
For more information see www.autodesk.com/dwgtrueview

AutoCAD Wishlist
Going through the voting results (may need free registration) of the AutoCAD wishlist ballot on AUGI web I am a little bit surprised. IMHO there are lots of other areas for possible improvement in AutoCAD, not such unimportant details like rotated MText cursor (position #12) or even the #1 wish - multiple leaders(!).
Are AUGI voters coming from this world? In any case I hope (and there are signs of it) that new version of AutoCAD (AutoCAD 2007 ?) will have much more important new features than those expressed by the AUGI ballot.

AutoCAD forgets AutoSave settings
CAD Forum reports about a bug in AutoCAD 2005 - AutoCAD forgets its AutoSave (savetime) settings.
I remember that I have seen similar problem even in AutoCAD 2006 but I am not sure that the reasons were the same.

Autodesk Inventor 11 in 64-bit?
There are rumours that the coming version of Autodesk Inventor, the world most popular 3D MCAD, will be available as a 64-bit Windows application. This would greatly enhance its ability to process large assemblies (today limited by WinXP addressable memory).
